Man Lies About Police Brutality After DUI Crash and Arrest

On Monday April 3rd, 2023, an officer with the Orlando police department was in the middle of a traffic stop when he noticed a man sleeping in the drivers side of his car parked on the side of the roadway. The officer finished his traffic stop then approached and woke up the driver. The police report states that he immediately noticed his bloodshot watery eyes and asked him why he was sleeping on the side of the road. The driver then said with an obviously slurred speech that he pulled over to charge his cellphone and fell asleep. They removed him from the vehicle as backup officers arrived.

The police report also states that before parking in the street he was at a parking garage and attempted to leave without paying, hitting the hydraulic arm with his car. It was very obvious it was him because he is also driving a convertible. He did not make any attempt to stop after striking the fixed object and left the scene of the accident. He was then taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being transported to the orange county jail where he was booked and charged with Leaving the scene of an accident, and driving under the influence.
