The World Economic Forum (WEF) announced on Tuesday that it had launched an investigation into its founder, Klaus Schwab.
The WEF’s probe into Schwab was prompted following allegations of misconduct by a whistleblower.
The probe’s announcement was only a day after Schwab stepped down as chairman of the WEF without an explanation.
The Wall Street Journal broke the news about the investigation, reporting an anonymous letter sent to the WEF’s board.
According to the WSJ, the letter raised concerns about the organisation’s governance and workplace culture.
The letter also alleged that the Schwab family mixed personal matters with the WEF’s resources without proper oversight, according to the WSJ.
