Jessica Jackson has been coming to City Hall and Cook County for over a year, fighting to remove her mother’s three-flat home from the Public Administrator’s office, where it never should have been. This is part of a broader fight she’s been battling for the past eight years. The City of Chicago and Cook County have been systematically stealing Black people’s property through probate, eminent domain, illegal tax deed sales, and other unjust means. No lawyers are willing to take these cases, and the media refuses to cover them because it’s all part of a money-laundering scheme. Everyone is involved—from commissioners and aldermen to city and Cook County employees, judges and lawyers.
The Democratic machine in Chicago and Cook County has become a cancer to Black society, and it must be dismantled. That’s why Jessica, along with others, is flipping Chicago red on principle—to show that it’s the power of Black Chicago that truly drives the city.
