A tense protest unfolds in Borough Park as NYPD officers stand by, ensuring public safety amid rising tensions.
An Israeli real estate expo in Borough Park has been moved to a new location due to concerns over a planned pro-Palestinian demonstration. The protest, organized by PAL-AWDA NY/NJ, was set for February 16th at 13th Avenue and 50th Street, calling to “stop the sale of stolen Palestinian land.”
Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein condemned the planned protest in a forceful statement on X, demanding that @NYPDnews and @NYCMayorsOffice act swiftly to protect the community. He called the demonstration an attack on Borough Park’s Jewish residents, asserting that hate has no place in the neighborhood.
The expo, originally scheduled for Lumiere Hall next to Kesser Rizel High School Bnos Zion of Bobov, has now been relocated for safety concerns.
Authorities have yet to confirm what steps will be taken to ensure security, but community leaders are urging vigilance.
