Bodycam Video Shows Struggle Over Riverside County Deputy's Gun Before Shooting

Corona, California — On June 11th, at 1:10 a.m., a deputy assigned to the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station was in the 1000 block of West Sixth Street in Corona when he saw two subjects, a male, and a female, displaying unusual behavior. The male suspect was identified as 32-year-old Eric John Nourani, a resident of San Diego and the female suspect was identified as 30-year-old Jennifer Rose Dobbins a resident of imperial Beach. The deputy stopped to investigate, and while speaking with them, they took off running.

The deputy gave chase and followed them behind a building, where both suspects were waiting, and Nourani attacked him. While the deputy was engaged in a struggle with Nourani and wrestle for control of the deputy’s firearm, the man repeatedly instructed the woman to kill the deputy. Dobbins joined in assaulting the deputy, and seconds later, the deputy pulls out his gun and fires one shot at Dobbins. Medical aid was rendered to Dobbins until paramedics arrived. She was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. Nourani was arrested and booked for murder, attempted murder of a peace officer, Mayhem and resisting an officer with violence.
