Barack Obama’s Roast of Donald Trump Motivated Him to Run for President | Firstpost America

Former US President Barack Obama and President-Elect Donald Trump have been beefing with each other for more than a decade. It all began in 2008 when Hillary Clinton’s campaign shared an email claiming that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Trump took the false claims seriously and made it into a political issue. In 2011, Obama hosted the White House Correspondents’ dinner where he squashed Trump’s claims and then went on to roast the billionaire. It is widely believed that it was that incident which made Trump run for President in 2016. Another incident between the two titans was when Trump tweeted against Obama, which Obama read on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and taunted Trump for not being President, only to hand him the White House within a few months. During the ceremony, another controversy erupted when Melania Trump gave Michelle Obama a gift. Even in the 2024 election, Barack and Michelle Obama went after Trump, but all that failed as the Republicans won the election and will now return to the White House.
