A Bloemfontein woman has laid an assault charge against two police officers who allegedly assaulted her at the Heidedal Police Station. A video footage that was leaked to SABC, shows two female officers beating the complainant repeatedly all over her body. Steffnie Booysen says she had been to the police station to report her live-in boyfriend’s verbal abuse despite a court order instructing him not to do so. Booysen says she still finds it unbearable after she was slapped on the face, her body kicked around and stepped on while hand cuffed by the police at the station. Spokesperson for the South African Policing Union, Lesiba Thobakgale, joins us for more.
