Seventeen years after the cash-at-judge’s-door scandal first made headlines, a special CBI court in Chandigarh acquitted retired Justice Nirmal Yadav in a 2008 corruption case—the first in which a sitting high court judge was booked for graft. The case stemmed from Rs 15 lakh in cash mistakenly delivered to another judge, Nirmaljit Kaur, who reported it to the police.
