A spate of #MeToo stories have surfaced from the Malayalam film industry since the release of the Hema Committee report on the working conditions of women in the regional cinema. At least four prominent actors are now booked for sexual assault.

The Kerala High Court has ordered the state government to submit the entire report with the names and evidence in a sealed cover. Amid demands for accountability, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has set up an SIT to initiate preliminary investigations.
