Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ensures Maximum Security for Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrations

Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim Mallik has assured that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken all necessary measures to ensure a safe and festive environment for Eid-ul-Fitr. He stated that DB has always stood by the city residents during the holy month of Ramadan and will continue to do so during Eid celebrations.

At a press briefing at the DMP Media Center on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM, he emphasized that law enforcement efforts have been intensified across Dhaka. Security has been heightened with increased checkpoints, patrol teams, and auxiliary forces working alongside uniformed police officers.

To ensure a smooth Eid journey, DB has strengthened its activities in shopping malls, railway stations, bus terminals, and launch terminals. Any misconduct, including fare exploitation and criminal activities, will be strictly monitored. Cyber surveillance has also been ramped up to counter misinformation and online fraud during this time.

The DB’s proactive measures have already led to the arrest of a significant number of criminals, including robbers, extortionists, and drug dealers. Special operations will continue post-Eid to ensure the safe return of city residents.

Residents are urged to report any suspicious activities or security concerns to local police stations, DB offices, or emergency helpline 999. The DB remains committed to ensuring the safety of all citizens and maintaining peace during the festive season.
