Police Officer Hailed As Hero After Taking Time To Play With Little Girls Who ‘Were Afraid Of Cops’
WRITTEN BY MARK BAKER (1 DAY AGO)
Corporal C.B. Fleming is a police officer from South Hill, Virginia who earned the nickname “Batman” from the children in his neighborhood after he spent an afternoon helping children feel safe after a gas leak.
Fleming was one of the officers who was called to the home of Iesha Roper-Boswell earlier this month after the gas leak. As Fleming spoke to the 28 year-old mother, she told him that her daughter, niece, and other children in the neighborhood were afraid of police officers. Iesha was then stunned minutes later when she saw Fleming laying in the grass playing with the children!
As soon as she saw what he was doing, Iesha took out her phone to record the moment. The footage has quickly gone viral, being viewed thousands of times!

Fleming, who has been a police officer for the past fifteen years, is a father of four biological children as well as two adopted kids. He explained that he has always tried to make members of his community feel comfortable.
“It’s something I’ve always tried to do,” Fleming said of his moment with the children. “When I got into this job, I knew there was something different, other than just writing tickets and being the bad person all the time. I figured if I could be that bright spot in someone’s day then that’s all that mattered.”
Iesha said that he succeeded in making the kids feel more comfortable around cops.
“He’s awesome. That’s the only word you can really use to describe C.B.,” she said. “It’s just amazing, the bond he has with the children. For him to make my child feel like she’s safe, she doesn’t even have to call 911, she just has to call C.B. if she’s in trouble. I’m glad he made this part of his job. He’s changed my daughter and niece’s lives.”
